Hi! I have been trying to get over a brick wall for some time now and wonder if anyone here can help.

I´m trying to find the name of the daughter born to a couple on my family tree. I know it was a girl, born about 1908-1909. On the 1911 census the child´s name isn´t given just one child born alive and still living. I know that her first name began with M but that´s all. The daughter is mentioned on the mother´s death certificate but only by her initial and her married name. Although I have a good subscription i´m running out of ideas of where to search now. Any ideas?

Was it usual for a child´s name to be left off the 1911 census or did it mean that the child wasn´t at home at the time?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Fellow Ancestry Folks
I'm wrapt to find this new site.
I've been looking in to my family history for my mother (80's) she had done a lot of research in the 90's unfortunately her research was destroyed when she shifted, so I now have the ancestry bug, to find as much as possible for her and now my curiosity. I live in Australia born in New Zealand so a long way to travel to get more info. Looking forward some day to get to the UK.
All of my ancestors are from the UK which is good, but seem to be hitting a brick wall as with others in trying to get the right lineage and linking early ancestors with later ones.
Anderson line - Jonathan b 1818 maybe north England or Scotland married Isobel Smith b abt 1820 gr,gr,gr grandparents
Gee line - Richard Gee b 1779-81 Northamptonshire,4xgr g.father 3xgr g.father married Sophia Masters 1820-1860
Nancarrow - John 1606-1692 mainly Cornwall area. Have a lot of different trees (Surnames) going from this line dating back to 1423
O'Donnell - John 1839-1933 gr gr g.father I know hes a decendent of the O'Donnell's (O'Domhnaill) of Tyrconnell 1400's-1600's but can't find the conection to my John. Also my Galic language isn't that good either!!
Watson - Helen Jane 1912??? has come to a screming holt born St Pancras, Greater London my father's (Dennis Daniel b1932 he was adopted by his aunt Ann ) mother has two sisters Beatrice & Ann(Baker).
So the search goes on somewhat slowly.
Hoping to be able to help others find their roots or receive help from others.
Kind regards to you all

I am the family member putting our tree together. We are having problems finding more information on John Norris who was the father of Jeremiah Norris who was born in Halifax Nova Scotia in 1810. John is listed as a Police Magistrate at the time of the birth but the mothers name does not appear. In marriage documents held on the Isle of Butte in Scotland Johns location is shown as Mifflin County Pennsylvania in 1840. This information was entered by Jeremiah Norris his son prior to his marriage to Violet McNabb a local girl who died within 4 years allowing Jeremiah to marry again with Elizabeth Casey in Queenstown Ireland. The marriage was carried out at Templerobin where the family moved to Scotland before departing for the Australian gold fields. Jeremiah came to Australia in 1850 and Elizabeth arrived with their son John in 1853. The family lived in Caledonia Gully Victoria Australia for many years. They were well established in owning hotels and the New caledonia gold mine in the district. We believe that we must have family still in America and Scotland and Ireland. The family would be most grateful for any new information that we receive.

I want to have a website built for my family to have access to my research and also as a means of them posting family announcements, news, etc.

I dont like the way that the big genealogy sites work (effectively social networking sites) as I believe that the data that I hold is confidential and should not be available by a Google search. I have approached 6 web design companies over a period of about a year and none of them have even come back to me after I explain that I want the site to be private and non-searchable.

Does anyone know of a company in the UK who can provide me with a quote to build this site.

The site will need to be built with a content management system to control access and be designed to NOT be found by search engines.

Thanks.

On researching for my father's autobiography (A Schoolmaster's Century IBSN 1-905200-20-X) I found my maternal granfather Andrea Baleix who diaapeared during WW1 returning to France. He is not listed in the French dead of the conflict and therefore I am curious to know what happened to him. I would welcome any advise about how to find if his death is recorded or, more interestingly, if he bigimously re-married.

I moved to a new home in Florida about 8 months ago. I have a grapefruit tree and a tangerine tree in my yard. I know nothing about growing citrus trees. Both produced lots of healthy awsome fruit. My grapefruit tree is fine, but in the past month or so, my tangerine tree lost all of it's leaves except for one branch. My neighbor has the same type of tree and hers is flourishing with leaves and fruit. I don't do anything for my trees....but someone told me to clear all the grass underneith of my fruit trees and give them a citrus stake. If that's what's wrong....why is my grapefruit tree ok and my neighbors tangerine tree too? She doesn't do anything to her tree except leave it alone. We did just go through a major draught...but again...why would my tangerine tree be the only tree affected? Can my tangerine tree be saved or should I just cut it down and plant another one?
